Jana & Imad's Engagement, Washington DC (15 April 2006)
I met Jana and Imad at the New York Arab-American Comedy Festival in November 2005, where Jana's play, Love in Las Vegas, was premiering. Jana played "The Bride" in the play, so I had the bizarre opportunity to shoot her first in a fake wedding dress, then in an real engagement dress. As the couple's wedding is taking place in Jordan, the "engagement party" was more of an American wedding, for all the friends and family who wouldn't be able to make it to the Middle East. Hotel Washington was an interesting venue, with a patio for the sunset reception that looks onto the White House, and a convenient adjoining ballroom for the dinner.
